It would seem that GoDaddy.com have a serious flaw on their sign-up page that will prevent anyone who doesn’t live in the USA from signing up or paying them any money.
Below is a screenshot of the page right before checkout. Checkout is refused because no State/Territory/Province is specified. However their only option for this is ‘Not Applicable’ which is not accepted by their parser because it is a required field.
As a web designer myself I appreciate that this is a simple oversite, but really does need to be addressed ASAP.
I have emailed GoDaddy and alerted them to the problem including this screenshot that proves their sign-up process has a flaw in it.
I got this email from the GoDaddy team:
Due to its complex nature, your issue has been relayed to our Advanced Technical Support Team. Our most skilled technicians will be working to resolve your issue quickly and completely. You will be notified promptly upon resolution. This is your Incident ID: 7215145 Thanks, GoDaddy.com, Inc.
That was back on the 18th August 2009. It looks as though GoDaddy’s speedy technical team still haven’t resolved the problem and are still unable to re-produce the error that pretty much everyone in the entire World outside the U.S.A gets when they try to sign up with GoDaddy. I would have thought they would regard this as quite an important thing to solve but hey, it’s not my company so who cares?
