Ok, I have a home network running Microsoft Server 2012 and the standard password policy requires that the administrator password is changes every 45 days – which although is good practice for a large business network is a little bit more than I need.
So firstly to stop the password expiration policy go to the start screen and type ‘Local security Policy’ from there you can clearly see Account Policy. and just change whatever settings you like.
Then to change a password…
this is in essence the same thing as CTRL+ALT+DEL, it will display the login security screen where you can change the password, lock the computer, shut down, etc.
